CHURCH AND SUNDAY SCHOOL ATTENDANCE

In keeping with the program of Christian training in our church and school, all pupils are expected to attend church regularly.  Attendance will be recorded for all church services and Sunday School sessions of the school year, and this record is put on the student’s permanent record.  Report cards will be altered to state the number of services instead of the number of Sundays.  The Board of Christian Education will monitor parents’ church attendance.  Attendance will be recorded only if parents attend the entire Church service. Leaving the Church service before it is over will not count as attendance towards tuition. The policy monitors attendance on a quarterly basis, with tuition discounts applied to the following quarter.  The policy counts one Sunday morning, Monday evening, or Wednesday Lent or Advent service per week for attendance.  Since the purpose of the attendance policy is to encourage family worship, at least one member parent must attend worship service and sign the friendship register. Anyone found falsifying signatures will be put on Full Tuition permanently. The Board of Christian Education will accept only two (2) bulletins per quarter from another church as long as the church is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.  The attendance policy has two (2) tuition categories:

1.      Full Tuition – Families that attend 9 or fewer worship services in a calendar quarter (only one service per week is counted).  This category bases the tuition fee on the actual cost per student, with discounts applied to families with more than one student.

2.      Committed Member – Families that attend at least 10 worship services in a calendar quarter (only one service per week is counted).  This category receives a full discounted tuition. Families will be considered committed members and will receive the member discount the quarter following their reception of church membership.

Church Attendance Quarters:

Quarter 1: January, February, and March

Quarter 2: April, May, and June

Quarter 3: July, August, and September

Quarter 4: October, November, and December

Each quarter’s attendance will determine the discounted rate for the following quarter. Attendance is monitored all four quarters.
